So you're shopping again for some tools for your guy. Yes, once again you're trudging along in the tool department trying to buy the best hand tools that you can find. Now, I can only imagine that you're wondering why your favorite guy can't be happy with some nice clothes or cologne, right?
Well, we all just need to be upfront at this point and adjust to the fact that guys love their hand tools. In fact, they love any kind of tool that they can get their hands on. Some of them can't even get through a day without touching something metal, turning them over and looking at them, and turning a nut or bolt somewhere.
Let me give you a little analogy that may make things more understandable. I think all you gals understand the draw that you get when you look at all that make up in your bathroom. Or better yet, think of how excited you get when you look at that closet full of new clothes. That's just what us guys are feeling but let's go ahead and take this one step further.
First of all, tools in general give us a feeling of power. They make us look macho and tough. Yes, they really do and if your guy won't admit to this then he's just being a coward. We love the sound of a power tool, the feel a hammer, and the look of the case that they come in.
Men love hand tools because they let us stay busy and use our hands. There's a sheer joy that comes from drilling a hole in a wall and filling it with a nail or a screw. That may sound a little crazy but it's true.
Finding projects around the house that keep us occupied is one way that we enjoy putting that large group of tools to work. Now, I'll admit that we love getting a little bit appreciation when it comes to a job well done but what we really love is puttering around and those tools to good use.
In another analogy of mine I'd like to compare using tools to the excitement of playing video games. Yea, I know this sounds really strange but men who love to play video love their tools too. While we're on that video controller we're living in our own little fantasy world playing with chain saws and the like. Then we can pick up our favorite tools and live in a little fantasy world in the real world too.
Now, I don't mean to give the impression that women don't like tools too. In fact, I've seen some pretty amazing pink tools that have awesome pizzazz and quality just like a man's tool. So for those women who know a good tool when they see one - you go girl! I'm impressed with your interests!
For all you women who think your guy has a tool obsession, I'm hoping that I've given you a little bit of insight into what's going on in our minds. We love a good tool and you can be sure that your gift of a tool is the best thing in the world that you could give us.
In conclusion, the best hand tools that will work for your guy will most certainly depend on his personality. Maybe he's a woodworking guy or perhaps he likes to remodel any room that he can get his hands on. Whatever the case, buy him a quality made tool that is durable and will last a lifetime.
